Boundary Bay Doing fine!

Crescent Beach No representative.
Ladner Everything going fine, a few chilly days. Ladner had 110 swimmers attend their development meet, Swimathon next week.
North Delta No representative.
Richmond Busy with the Provincials. Amelia handed out schedules for the food preparation for Provincials to each Club, about 3 or 4 people are needed from each Club to do a shift; she needs feedback as soon as possible. Each Club should have a coordinator to liaise with Amelia about what food to bring also.
Surrey Had development meet last night, weather was cold. Numbers seemed to be down in general for development meets.
White Rock Had their development meet, numbers were also down probably by about half. Registration is close to last year's.
Delta Diving No representative.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
  • 'O' swimmers - in the North Delta package it stipulated no ribbons or aggregates for 'O' swimmers. It was decided a while ago, at the Board level, that 'O' swimmers could not be discriminated against - more suitable wording would be to say that if there are less than three swimmers, awards would not be given. Bob suggested Clubs be careful on the wording in their meet packages with regard to 'O' swimmers.
  • Award Nominations - All Club Presidents should have a package with regard to nominating someone from their Club - Bob needs to know by tomorrow.
  • Advertising for Provincials - Anyone interested in buying space from the Region or BCSSA, the artwork needs to be in by July 15.
  • Next Meeting - The next meeting will be the AGM on Sunday, August 8 during the lunch break. We need a nominations committee for the Regional positions. Joan Angrignon and Craig Slater were asked to be on Nominations Committee, both accepted.
  • Regional Responsibilities at Provincials - Clubs will probably need to find parents to help out who do not have children swimming. The duties missing from the list is set-up and take-down -  set-up-up could be started on the Thursday. Surrey, Richmond and Boundary Bay will provide watches, computers/printers, plus B$ will also bring four headsets. The lane ropes will need to be in before 6:30pm on Thursday in time for the swimming practice. Scheduling will be set up for deck security for our Region on Sunday afternoon. Parking for Officials - North Delta were being phoned to coordinate parking for officials. Each Club needs to five Amelia one contact name with regard to printing heats and finals. All meetings will be held at the Grizzlies Centre on Thursday - Coaches 1 - 3:00 pm; Officials 5:30 - 7:00 pm, the AGM will be held at 7:15 pm.
  • John Westlake asked Richmond if they were intending to refund Clubs for the I.M. event from their Icebreakers Meet. Amelia said she would check into it.
  • John Westlake asked for clarification of development meet entries. It was agreed, after much discussion, that a 'C' time would alleviate some problems of who should be attending.
Motion to adjourn meeting.
