May 2, 2001 were approved. Motion
by Bob Munro, seconded by Joan Angrignon.
Motion Carried
2. CORRESPONDENCE - none
3. REPORTS
Great to see everyone at the past meets!
Will be contacting each club about their Regional meet duties. Cloverdale & Crescent Beach to be responsible for deck food. It was agreed that each club be responsible for submitting receipts for any food purchased (reasonable discretion please). It was also noted that Watermania can be hot and humid, so we will need to offer lots of fluids to all those on deck.
All is moving along nicely with Winnie’s help. Predict that the region’s numbers are up over last years.
All clubs are to have their registrations forwarded to Lynn by the end of June, as the 1st batch of registrations are due to BCSSA by June 30th.
Director of Officials
Stroke & Turn clinics were hosted by Boundary Bay with 30 attending and by Crescent Beach with 10 attending. Wow!
Upcoming Stroke & Turn clinics to be hosted by Whiterock on June 14th & Ladner on June 19th.
Thanks to all the clubs for having the clinics!!!
Treasurer
Crescent Beach owes for Winter Maintenance. Last years regional refund to all clubs to be issued at B4 meet this weekend.
Secretary
Nothing to report
Coach’s Representative – not present
No issues to report – all appear happy!
Margaret to contact Myna about having a coaches rep at our next meeting – if Myna is unable to make it, suggest sending the alternate, Allan Reynold of Richmond.
Equipment Manager
It has been confirmed that the “data
collection” at Provincials needs to be downloaded from the Colorado timing
system. As it stands now we can
not call up Regional results if produced from the Omega timing system.
Since we are unable to “data collect” there is no need to
purchase the OMS6 chip.
It was noted that the timing system cable connection to each of the club’s starter systems is not standard. Cable modifications need to be made at each meet, which can lead to technical difficulties at times. It was suggested that we purchase a new starter system for the region, to be shared by all clubs. It was agreed that since each club has so far been able to handle their unique cabling requirements to leave the idea of purchasing a regional starter system for now.
As discussed at previous meetings, we will
go ahead and purchase “1” full size timing pad plus replace the connecting
cables. This will use up most of
the $4,000 that is available in our “timing” account.

Fraser South “B” cut off times – there is no automatic way of
calculating them. Need to speak
to Carole as to how they can be calculated. For this year stay with 2000 “A” times. Aim to have updated “B” cut off times ready this Fall and
to include the 2001 Regional results. Simon
Fraser is also looking at recalculating standards.
·
Provincials 2001
o
Fraser South duties 2001 – Clerk of the Course & Marshalling –
Rosemary has offered her assistance this year regarding conducting a clinic.
o
Provincial Qualifiers – Suggest that coaches confirm with the parents
of the swimmers that qualify for provincials and ask if they are they prepared
to go the Trail? This is
especially important for those on relays, as alternates will need to make
arrangements.
·

these sports.

o
Club duties - each club to

process, a coach from each club is required to be at the Regional Entry
meeting the Tuesday morning prior to the Regional championships.
