MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
Bob Munro moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be accepted, seconded by Michael Chiu Carried.
CORRESPONDENCE:
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Amelia presented a budget for the 1998 Regionals to be held at "Watermania"
REPORTS:
1. Coaches Rep: We are currently looking for a Coaches Rep.
ACTION
2. Water Polo: Crescent Beach is the only club running water polo at the present time.
3. Syncro: None
4. Diving: Winter diving has been going strong in both Delta and South Surrey. If any clubs would like to start up a summer diving program, contact Nancy Martin 531-6357.
ACTION
5. Registrar: There will be a Fraser South Registrars meeting at Winnie Palubiski’s house on Apr.22,98 at 7:30 p.m. (3480 –40th St., Ladner) All clubs to bring the $50.00 club affiliation fee to this meeting.
6. Director of Officials: There was a Provincial Workshop held on Feb.21-22,98. Each club in our region, has been given a list of officials in their club. Please look these over and add any people missing.
Clinics to be held: Mar.14-15 Boundary Bay

CLUB REPORTS:
1. Boundary Bay: Coaches all set for summer
2. Ladner: None
3. Cloverdale: Coaches all set for summer
4. Surrey: None
5. North Delta: Mar.12,98 there was a meeting held at the Ladner Leisure Centre regarding pools
6. Richmond: Apr.18,98 registration day. All coaches in place for summer
7. White Rock: None
8. Crescent Beach: None
BUSINESS ARISING:
· Our timing equipment is operational. We do need, however, to purchase an additional timing pad. (see motions)
· There was a General discussion about stopping the activity of "Recruiting Swimmers". This was highly frowned upon.
· Harassment Officials for our Region are Ruth Sebastian and Murray Lunn. Our next meeting on Apr.1,98 will be about Harassment.
· Donations are needed from each club for the BCSSA Auction Apr.3,98. Please contact Murray Lunn if you have any items. The Auction is to be held at the Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby.
MOTIONS:
· There was a motion by Bob Munro and seconded by Debbie Durocher to accept the budget presented by Amelia Werk (re: Regionals 98) carried.
· There was a motion by Judith Huntington and seconded by Sandra Riley to take the motion made at the last meeting regarding suspensions off the table for further discussion.
An amendment was added to the original motion to allow for the process of an appeal for suspended swimmers. The appeal committee would be made up of the Regional Director and three other neutral people selected by the Regional Director from clubs not affected.
The original motion plus the amendment above PASSED unanimously.
· There was a motion by Katherine Town and seconded by Debbie Durocher that the transfer of Swimmers between clubs in our region will not be permitted within two weeks of that years Regionals.
ACTION
· There was then a motion by Amelia Werk and seconded by Donna Beaton to table the above motion till the next meeting to allow for clubs to discuss.
· There was a motion by Bob Munro and seconded by Katherine Town to purchase an additional timing pad (cost $900.00) PASSED.
Final motion to adjourn meeting. Motion made by Don Roberts, seconded by Amelia Werk. (Carried)
