1. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The minutes of the meeting held
October 3, 2001 were approved. Motion
to approve by Joan Angrignon, seconded by Gary Payne. Motion Carried
2. CORRESPONDENCE - none
3. REPORTS
· Board nominations will be announced in advance as well as being taken from the floor
· BCSSA chat line has been shut down on website due to controversial postings. BCSSA seeking legal council re: content of postings.
· Bids for Provincials 2003 are due by January 2002
· Provincial fees to be increased by $1 per registered athlete for 2002 season
· Regional registrar’s meeting to be held Nov 16 – 18th
· Regional director of officials meeting to be held Feb 16 – 17th
· Coaches conference to be held Apr 26-28th
· New Harassment policy to be distributed shortly (suggest to try and deal with any harassment issues within your own club if possible)
· Mark Reynolds has offered to come to one of our meeting’s as a Zone 3 rep for the summer games
· Fraser South’s motion re: Representation by Population has been tabled – to be dealt with at the January board meeting! It is now out of the strategic planning committee.
· See New Business – Regionals 2002
· Will be attending Nov 16-18th Registrar’s meeting – in service for new registration system
· Hoping for the new registration system to be ready for the upcoming season
· Have yet to receive new registration software

Water Polo
· Randy McClouski is interested in being water polo representative.
Diving - Not present
Synchro - Vacant
4. CLUBS
Boundary Bay – Winter maintenance doing well with about 60 swimmers registered. Coaching staff is stable. Some Regional Relay medals still have not been received, Gary to forward names to Pierre.
Cloverdale – So far so good. 40 swimmers on Sunday, 12 on Thursday.
Crescent Beach- Not present
Ladner – Winter maintenance up and running. Expect more after Christmas. Hanging onto 8 lanes hrs over 4 days.
North Delta – Not present
Richmond – 95 swimmers currently in maintenance program. Have a wait list for Sr. swimmers.
Surrey – Winter maintenance numbers are low. Have North Surrey pool on Saturday evenings 5-6pm
White Rock – Not present

o Mike to meet with Bob to establish “B” cut off times

To have 1 pool for competition, 2nd pool to
have 2 lanes available all day for warmups.

Cost for 1 pool is $825/day + $238 for Multipurpose
room

§ To obtain meet package from Bob in order to review club responsibilities
§ Mike/Steve to explain responsibilities at next meeting

“S” and “O” swimmers
o 2hr rule may change to be sport specific – allowing 2hrs for swimming, 2hrs for water polo etc.
o Water polo looking to change rule to 4hrs in winter – suggest this be discussed at club meetings

Waterpolo rule changes
o Must be 3 female players in water, up from 2
o Gender specific teams are being discussed
