1. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
The minutes of the Annual General
meeting held August 4, 2000 were approved.

3. REPORTS
· Thanked Gary & Debbie Payne for all their hard work as Directors of Officials
· Presented Master Pins to Bob Munro, Gary Payne, and Debbie Payne
· Proceeds of the 50/50 at Regionals will be going to the Cancer Society. We are hoping to raise $250 this weekend.
· Presented Regional Directors report – see attached
o Highlights of the report include:
§ Great to see continued growth in our region
§ Encourage all to work toward their Senior & Master official pins
§ Preliminary study has been done on our A/B cutoff times
§ Recommend reviewing the value of the coaches conference
§ Thanked all for completing the Fraser South questionnaire
· Thanked all that have helped at Regionals. So far the meet has run smoothly.
· Acknowledged Team Aquatics donation of $250 which will go towards coaching development
· Grateful to Sierra Wireless for copying the Regional programs at no charge. This is a savings of approximately $800 to the region.
· Total registration this season is 979 slightly down from 1,072 last season.

at least 5 clinics with approximately 50 people attending. Let’s keep it up!

Presented financial statements – see attached. Have
$5,000 in term deposit & $25 remaining in chequing account.

Request all Provincial entries to accompany club
cheques by Tuesday, as we no longer have extra money to cover advance payment.

Coach’s Representative
· Presented report – see attached
o Highlights of report include:
§ Recommend using Watermania for Regionals and to run as a double ended swim meet
§ Addressed concerns expressed from Simon Fraser region regarding winter maintenance & the 2 hr rule
§ Request that “A” swimmers not be allowed to swim their respective “A” events at Development meets.
§ Recommend changing wording in the Regional package – Swimmer Eligibility from “The Dequalifying Time in any BCSSA sanctioned meet may swim in the “B” Tier… to “Fraser South “A” Qualifying time.

4. CLUBS
Boundary Bay – Great year due to excellent coaching!
Cloverdale – Many best times this year due to great coaching!
Crescent Beach – It was slow start but came around. Having a good year. Encouraging swimmers and families to come to meets.
Ladner – Lot’s of younger swimmers but down in senior swimmers this year. Having a good year.
North Delta - Capped swimmers at 150, which worked out better for coaching. New pool scheduled to be open next June, but since this is not a given, North Delta probably won’t have their meet next year.
Richmond - Great year! This is Eric’s last season, after 6 years as head coach.
Surrey – Had 90 swimmers this year – Great year!
White Rock - All is going well and having a great year!

NEW BUSINESS
Motion – to be brought to the Provincial board
Whereas the Fraser South region believes the BCSSA voting system is inequitable, Fraser South region puts forth the recommendation that the Regions, in total, should have the majority vote and that the Regional vote should be proportional to Regional size.
