1.  MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

The minutes of the meeting held June 5, 2002 were approved.  Motion to approve by Donna Beaton , seconded by Joan Angrignon .                                                                                            Motion Carried

 

2.      CORRESPONDENCE - none

 

3.   REPORTS

 

Regional Director – presented New Business - see below.  Also pointed out that Relay PQT’s are set by the average 3rd place relay at Provincials over the past five years.

 

Assistant Director(s) – not present

 

Registrar – not present

 

Director of Officials – not present

 

Treasurer – Currently have $5,387 in the chequing account, $342 in the Timing account, plus $5,000 in a term deposit.

 

Secretary  -  nothing to report

 

Coach’s Representative - Not present

 

Equipment Manager –

 

Water Polo - Vacant

 

Diving - Not present

4.   CLUBS

 

 

Boundary Bay  - have ordered shirts and awards for Regionals.  Season going well.

 

Cloverdale – have 3 swimmers going to summer games. Season going well.  Would like a S & T clinic.

 

Crescent Beach – registration in full swing.  Hosting a “B” development meet July 11th.

 

Ladner –  have 1 swimmer going to summer games.  Season going well.

 

North Delta – season going great. Have ordered new headsets.

 

Richmond – not present

 

Surrey   - not present

 

White Rock – have 3 swimmers going to summer games.  All is going well.

 

 

5.  NEW BUSINESS

 

·         Regional Championships budget & meet package

o        Reviewed regional meet package

 

-     Cloverdale expressed concerns re: the ability of supplying parents for Saturday lane assignments, as they are a small club and are already looking after food on Saturday.

-     Agreed that North Delta will be responsible for Cloverdale’s Saturday lane assignments and that Richmond will be responsible for Crescent Beach’s Sunday lane assignments.

-          The word in Relays should state that, “at least one competing swimmer must be from the division in which they are competing, the balance may be from lower divisions.”

-          Regional card party – all clubs must provide a “designate” who can make a decision regarding meet entries.

 

o        Presented regional budget – see attached

 

-          Recommend we keep fees that same as last year

-          $4 / event and $5 / relay

 

·         Club duties for Provincials

 

o        Fraser South region is responsible for food distribution

 

-      duties to be split up based on % of Provincial qualifiers from each club
