2. CORRESPONDENCE - none
3. REPORTS
Director of Officials – not present
Treasurer – Still receiving bills from
Regionals. Needs a list of all the
Provincial Qualifiers from each club, as clubs need to pay for Qualifier
T-shirts at $13 per T-shirt. Don to look for list of qualifiers. Clubs to ask their Head Coach for numbers
and to bring a cheque for T-shirts to the next meeting.
Motion:
To pay outstanding invoice from Wilson and
Team Aquatics for Regional T-shirts and caps.
Motion by Michelle Curley, seconded by Lynn Hobbs Motion

Secretary
- Requested clubs to bring their 2003 swim season club executive
list to the next meeting.
Coach’s Representative - Not present
Equipment Manager – see report on timing system
Water Polo - Sport is growing! Last season they started at 13 and ended up with 33 players. Expressed concern with BCSSA application process. One player couldn’t qualify because the water polo box wasn’t ticked on the BCSSA application. Questioned the necessity of limiting the number of players on a team at Provincials. Had 15 kids registered on one team and only 13 were eligible to play at Provincials according to BCSSA rules. Also, found the cost ($300) of registering each team at Provincials high, as it was more than twice the amount than other tournament rates
Diving - Not present
Synchro - Vacant
4. CLUBS
Boundary Bay - Interested in hearing if anyone has information on Directors Liabilities Insurance for their club? Is there a possibility of obtaining coverage through BCSSA? Have an old laptop for sale. Contact Don if any club is interested in purchasing it for a nominal amount.

Richmond – Opposed to BCSSA increasing their fees.

Review of Regional Championship & Provincial
Championship meets
o
Everyone did a great job!
o
Still need a final invoice for Watermania (Rosemary is
working on that)
o
Asked clubs to make suggestions for “Club
Responsibilities” for next year and bring it to the next meeting.
·
Timing System
o
Have given North Delta 10 functioning pads/4
plungers/set of multiplex blocks & cables, which are the ones purchased
last season.
o
North Delta has cut the pads down by 6 inches in order
for them to fit in the new pool. The
pads would still fit in other pools.
o
Still have our original pads etc. stored in the
trailer.
o
Still need to address the issue of storage. Will inquire if there is locked storage
available at Sungod for our use. Also,
to ask Don & Brad as to what Surrey does with their equipment.
o
Trailer is still at Amelia’s. Apparently the trailer is registered to BCSSA in Kelowna?
o
Need to find a new location for trailer and to address
the insurance & registration issue?
o
Firth to come up with proposal for next meeting
·
Firth Bateman’s relay proposal for Regionals
Discussion:
· The selection of relay teams has always been up to each individual club’s policy
· Many clubs would not be able to put in a competitive team if they had to restrict selection to within a division first, before choosing a swimmer from a lower division
· It has been understood that the Regional relay wording needs to be similar to BCSSA Provincial wording as it is the qualifying meet for Provincials.
