Minutes of Meeting

November 6, 2002

1. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

The minutes of the meeting held October 2, 2002 were approved. Motion to approve by Steve Plummer, seconded by Lily Vonic. Motion carried

2. CORRESPONDENCE - none

3. REPORTS

Regional Director

- Provincials 2003 will be held in Victoria – Aug 12^th – 17^th (swimming is Aug 15, 16, & 17^th)

- BCSSA fees for 2003 to be increased $3 to $26 with winter maintenance fees effective October 2003 to be set at $15

- Reminded clubs to bring cheques to pay for the 2002 Provincial Qualifier T-Shirts to the next meeting.

Assistant Director(s) – see Regionals below

Registrar – Will be attending the Regional registrar’s meeting Nov 16 & 17^th. Having some problems with the program.

Director of Officials – not present

Treasurer – not present

Secretary – reminded clubs that their 2003 swim season club executive lists are needed so that they can be forwarded to BCSSA.

Coach’s Representative – not present

Equipment Manager – not present

Water Polo – not present

4. CLUBS

Boundary Bay - Winter maintenance going well with about 30 swimmers. All but one coaching position has been filled. Would like more information on Directors & Officers liability insurance.

Cloverdale – Just had their AGM – all positions have been filled. Winter maintenance is up and running.

Crescent Beach – not present

Ladner - Winter maintenance is underway. Numbers are slightly lower, however, more are expected in January.

North Delta – not present

Richmond – not present

Surrey - Have new swimmers in the pool for winter maintenance. Numbers for returning swimmers are low, but more are expected in January.

White Rock – not present

5. NEW BUSINESS

· Regional Relay selection process

o Pierre to draft a policy for discussion at next meeting

· Club meet dates for 2003

o Watermania has been booked for August 2^nd & 3^rd.

o Asked clubs what duties they would like to do at Regionals.

o Asked if there is anything that can be done differently.

· Timing System

i. Storage, Maintenance & Insurance

· Michelle to ask Randy regarding storage possiblities

ii. Relationship with North Delta Sunfish\

· Who would the timing system be insured by?

· Firth Bateman’s relay proposal

o All were in favour of maintaining the regional Relay policy as it is.
