President's Thoughts:

Our Winter Fit swim program at the Cheam Pool is going along very well again after the Christmas break. I would like to invite any interested families to come on out to see what we are about. Contact any one of the executive members for information about either our Competitive or our Non-Competetive programs.

We were very pleased to see the overall increase in the number of swimmers this past swim season. We are anctipating even more swimmers for the coming season. Our coaching team will continue to challenge each swimmer to do their best and encourage new personal 'best times', while ensuring lots of skill development and fun. We always welcome new families and consequently, some new Executive members as well.

This year our Chilliwack Meet is on June 20-21. Mark these dates on your calendar. We set up the equipment on the afternoon of Fri., June 19th. We invite all of our swimmers, Competitive and Non-Competitive to come out. We are always in need of volunteers to help with running our meet. With jsut about 300 swimmers and their family and friends, it is quite anundertaking. Check back on our Calendar page for the date and location of each of the other Meets for the 2009 season.

Registration dates was at the Cottonwood Mall in February. However, we do have 'ongoing registration' if you missed these two days. Once again we will have an informal 'Meet and Greet' at the Rotary Pool after we get started there on May 19th. We encourage interested families to meet with our Coaches, some Executive members and current and future swimmers to find out more about the Chilliwack Stingrays Swim Club.

0nce registered, swimmers and parents are expected to take a serious approach to both practices and swim meets. 'Team' and working together for both individual growth and for the betterment of our Swim Club, go hand-in-hand. Respect and encouragement for eachother, and Respect for our Coaches plays an important part to benefit all of us.

Please remember that it takes a tremendous effort from volunteers to make each swim year a success. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. If you are at all interested in becoming involved, in any capacity, don't hesitate to contact one of the executive members.

Once again, we would like to thank Chilliwack Bingo (45515 Knight Rd, V2R 5L2. Tel. (604) 858-7066) for their continued financial support of our swim club.

I am looking forward to another successful summer swim season in 2008 for our swimmers, and with everyoneís help, I know this can be accomplished.Ý

"Fun, Friendship and Swimming!"

See you at the pool!!
