Cultus Lake-Chilliwack StingraysSummer Swim Club |
|
| The Chilliwack Stingrays summer swim club has been providing swimming programs to youth in the Chilliwack, Sardis and Cultus Lake area since the early 1950's. We are proud to be one of the founding Clubs of the Summer Swim program in the province of B.C.!! The Club originally trained in Cultus Lake, and the annual swim of the length of the lake was a big event. We moved to the Rotary Pool in Chilliwack when it was built in 1967 and have been training there ever since. We continue to be a family-oriented club and always welcome new members. We offer a full training program for Competitive Swimmers, and also one for Non-Competitive Swimmers wanting an introduction to basic swim stroke techniques, speed swimming, and endurance training. For more information about our club please contact, Phil at (604) 858-9894.
The Chilliwack Stingrays, 2004 Our Mission Statement: To foster a love of swimming while helping to develop a basic life skill. Our Goal: The focus of the Stingrays club is to provided competitive swimming for local youth under the umbrella of the British Columbia Summer Swimming Association. Fitness, coached practices and a team atmosphere help to improve both endurance and skills. For the competitive team, we require that swimmers be able to complete a width of the Rotary Pool using a face-in front crawl style. We also offer a Non-Competitive Program for less skilled swimmers at a lower rate. Fees: Our Swimming Season is from May1st of each year to the end of August. Fees for the 2009 season for Competitive swimmers is $250.00. Check out our Program page or contact our Registrar for specific information. In past years, we have been able to offer between 6 and 8 hours of practice per week for Competitive team members, and 25 hours of coached practice for our swimmers. We anticipate that this will continue for this Season as well. We appreciate the continued financial support of the Chilliwack Bingo Hall (45515 Knight Rd, V2R 5L2. Tel. (604) 858-7066.) for our swim club.
